Updates so far

I’m supposed to upload a lot of pictures but every single time I went to Sam’s house, I forget to copy from the camera. Sorry yea..

Anyway, just to let you guys know, I wont be taking internship. A lot of reason contribute to this decision. I have given it a lot of thoughts and made up my mind that doing Diploma Project is better for my current state). I am however want to find a part time job so that I have something to do while earning money on my spare time other than play games all day long. I’m still waiting for instructions for Diploma Project but after that, I will get a job and hopefully somewhere near. So if anyone knows any place that has a vacancy, do let me know.

Again, I want to wish all my friends Happy Graduating from Diploma and Degree. I know I’m the only one left but I will graduate soon also.

Well, that’s the updates so far. :)

New Hamster

I present to you Rufus. My new hamster I got from Alvin all the way from Penang. I wanted to take a picture of him running around but he sleeps almost all day long, I kid you not. He always eat/sleep/drink upside down. I don't know what's wrong with him but he is what he is now.

Penang Trip…again

Yup. We went Penang again. This time for the Street Fighter 4 tournament which was held at the Sony Centre in Quensbay Mall. We were really excited to hear that the first prize was a PS3 but when we reach there, we was told by the organizer that the first prize is a PsP only. I was pretty sad to hear that actually. But nonetheless. it was a good event. Met some new people, learn some new stuff and looking forward for the next!

Penang Trip Day 2 Report

For the second day, we mainly hang out at KDU Penang campus till late evening. Got pawn by Sam in Soul Calibur tournament. The prize wasnt even that good to actually motivate me to play better, not that i could actually play better when fighting with Sam. Damn~

Anyway, I missed out this picture from first day. What do you guys think? Some sort of mass suicide ritual?

Penang Trip Day 1 Report

Last weekend, some of us went to Penang for the Ichibanzai at KDU Penang Campus. Stayed there for a couple of days, took a lot of pictures. Anyway, I’m too lazy to talk about it. Just view some of the pictures below. I will update on the second day as soon as possible. You wont see a lot of me as I was the one who took the pictures most of the time thanks to Ivan’s DSLR. Note that there are some random pictures here and there.

MiAD Assignment

The first assignment for this subject was to create a 3D model of a Pokemon. I hate all the Pokemon starting from third generation. They all look crappy and weird. So I end up choosing Squirtle. And here is the result of my work:

image

I know its not that good but its the best of my effort. Its really interesting making 3D models because I always thought it would be the same as drawing stuff which I totally suck at. Well, hopefully the next assignment will look better.

C2AGE at Help

Last Saturday me, Ivan and Sam went to Help College for C2AGE. The only reason we went there was to join the Street Fighter 4 tournament and in hoping to see some pros showing off their skills. So after breakfast we took and taxi and reach at Help around 11 am.

By the time we reach there, the event was already started. There was some speech by some people who I don’t really care their names. All I remember was Hannah Tan and this Japanese guy singing P.Ramlee – Getaran Jiwa. That was pretty cool. And no, I didn’t manage to take a picture of Hannah Tan. Didn’t want to actually. Haha..

The tournament started just after around 12.30pm. We manage to register as the last 3 player as they only allow up to 20 contestants. We were really hoping to see at least some decent players but sad to say, the only people who joined the competition are not really that good, except 1 or 2. We fought our way through the tournament with ease. On the semi finals, it was my turn vs Ivan. Unfortunately I lost to him. I stick with Ryu and he uses Sagat. I won the first round but lost after that. Was a closed fight. Then for the finals, it was Sam vs Ivan. It was a battle between C.Viper vs Saqat. C.Viper speed and unpredicted moves beat Saqat’s high damage and defense.

It was pretty sad that there are no second or third prizes. Here are some pictures from the event taken by me using Ivan’s camera.

All and all, it was a ok event. Lots of things can and should be done better. I hope they will learn and all the best for next year’s C2AGE!

A long interval..

Hey hey hey..

Haha…got that from Kevin. Never use that for a long time already.. Anyway.. first and foremost, I would like to apologize to everyone for not updating my blog for about 3 months already. Mostly because I was busy with something and had nothing to blog about. I didn’t take much picture a lot lately, well non actually because nothing interesting happen. It is still early in the year so don’t blame me.

First let start with college. This would be my last semester in KDU College, hopefully. I’m taking 7 subjects. I wont bother to list it out because I know half of you guys wont even know what it is. 7 subjects is not a lot considering that 2 or 3 of the subjects are just minor ones. As in you don’t really have to study for it just to get an A. If you do all the tutorials/assignment, you will pretty much get at least a B for it. I have to pass all these subjects in order to do my internship next semester. If I fail one of them, this would mean that I will have to stay for another semester and the internship will have to wait until next year. That would be sucks. I’m getting bored of KDU already. Same people…. Same lecturer…. Same environment…. Also I’m getting tired of going back and forth from Shah Alam to Damansara every single day. I’m practically risking my life every day just to get to college because of our own ‘follow-the-rules’ Malaysian drivers. I can say that I have near accidents around 3 or 4 times on average every week. I’m not sexist but mostly its because of the women drivers. They don’t give signals when changing lanes, they don’t where to speed and slow down, they hesitate when driving and so on. I can give you a whole lot more but it will take forever to complete the list. Anyway, back to college. Met some interesting people. I will talk about them maybe on another post. You would think that you have met all the kinds of people in the world but they will just surprise you every time.. Haha..

Ok ok.. I will admit that I’ve been spending my time too much playing games these past couple of months. Its not my fault. I seriously I have nothing to do at home or after class. You can expect me to study, I didn’t even study for SPM! I cant study! My way of learning is to understand in class which is why I hate people who make noise/disturbance in class. But who am I to shut them up right? I am trying to cut back some gaming time to at least read through some notes the lecturer gave us.

Life? Nothing much really. Still no girlfriend. Not that I’m searching but I’m always open. Had my eyes on this someone but that’s about it. I finally have my car license!!! Well, not really because the driving school wont release my license until I pass my bike license as well. Been really lazy to go to Sri Muda to do the license. Its freakin’ hot there. Not only that I have to go there myself. That sucks really bad. But I will have to finish it sooner or later. Which reminds me I need to renew my license later..

Anyway, I need to get to class now. Will update some more if I have the time.

Pai seh~

P1 Wimax Unboxing and Review

As most of you would probably know by know, P1 Wimax is one of the new ISP provider in Malaysia. I had to wait around 6 months just for it to cover at my area. I heard a lot of good and bad reviews or feedbacks about Wimax so here is my take.

Lets start from the moment I went to their reseller..

I called the customer service asking whether they can send someone to do a speed test at my house. He said I can but need to call the nearest reseller first, so he gave me the number. Called them up and I was surprised that this lady told me that I need to go there, which is around Giant or Kompleks PKNS to pick up the modem myself. I saw some agents in forums that they are able to come to your house and test the speed. But anyway, I asked my friend and he told me that there is a small Wimax booth near my area.

I went there around 11 am. The booth was still not open. So I went back. I went there around at 12 pm, still not open. Disappointed, I went back home. Around 1 pm, I went there for the last time. Fortunately, it was open by the time I reach there! The promoters was still setting up the booth. But what do I care, I just want my internet. I approached them and start asking some question.

Here’s the thing. There was these 2 female promoters. Both of them was not wearing Wimax shirt or any indication that they are Wimax promoters. What kind of marketing is this? Not only that, they didnt have the adequate knowledge about Wimax when I ask them questions. Even I know better than them. At one point, I was arguing with one of them on the data cap (To put it simple, it is limit amount the data that you can download/upload before they slow down your internet to make it fair with other users. You can still online just not that fast).

So I got my box and reach home. I didnt have to pay anything for it. The registration is free. They have a 15 money back gurantee policy of which if you didnt use up to 10GB of data, there wont be any handling fees when you return back the modem should you are not satisfied with it. If you exceed the 10GB cap, you need to pay RM50. Its a good thing. But note that if you continue using, all the charges such as registration fee and what not will be included in your first bill. I’m still a bit blur on this but I will call the customer service to clarify it.

Here is what can you expect when you open the box. And I am very sorry for the bad quality picture as my room has poor lighting.

DSC01279 The front of the  box. Simple.

DSC01280All the ‘ingredients’ were pack nicely.

DSC01281The modem is not that big. If only they have coverage all around Malaysia, I wouldnt mind caring it around. But you need a plug to power it up. So not much mobility there.

DSC01282 Everything else inside the box. I really like the Ethernet cable. It the same as the regular cable but the cable it self is very thin. Kind of like your belt, just smaller version.

Now for the speed and stability. What can I say is that if you’re use internet for Facebook-ing, Youtube-ing, Google-ing or in other word, normal surfer, the speed is really good. It doenst take more than 5 seconds to open any website. You dont have to wait for Youtube to load. You can just click on it and watch it straight away.

For the heavy users; lets start with downloading. I have an example of downloading using torrent:

Untitled Click to enlarge if you cannot see it properly.

Such speed I can achieve if there are enough seeders. Pretty fast right?

Untitled Here is an example of direct download.

For gaming: I didnt really get the chance to test online gaming. But for Dota using Garena, I tried once and I get around 1 second delay. My ping is quite high. Wireless broadband is not that stable yet so you get the idea. I will update about online gaming when I have more games install in my laptop.

As of now its been almost 1 week I’m using Wimax. I’m very satisfied with the service. There are several disconnections when I’m surfing and all but it will quickly reconnect back and you’re online again. I get green light always in my area. Even during the rain, the speed is still fast.

Frankly speaking, I’m really glad that I switch to Wimax from Maxis USB Broadband, though I havent terminate my account with Maxis yet. No time. Honestly, dont ever register for Maxis USB Broadband. Speed is slower than dial up, disconnections frequently and unreliable customer service. I’m still waiting for my first bill just to see how much I need to pay.

So all and all, P1 Wimax is great but not perfect. There are some small improvements that can be done but I’m pretty sure they are working on it. I recomend everyone to use it but please check whether your area have coverage or not. If you install and they havent cover your area, dont blame me or them, its your own fault for not doing your homework first.

I end with “Seteresssss”~ :P

First week of college round up

Ahh…6th semester is finally here, I think. I’m taking 2 subjects only as it is only a short semester. It will take another 1 or 2 semester before I can finish my diploma. Hopefully I can finish by this year as I’m bored of KDU already.

DSC01272

I helped out the orientation for the new intakes last Monday. No surprise at all that there are only 7 new student for the School of Technology. I’m pretty shocked that there are no new student under my course. 0 intakes! Can you believe that? This means that I wont have juniors. Sad.. But what can I do right??

Happy 2009 Year!

I know the title is weird but heck what do I care. A very welcoming year to everyone. I’ve been receiving a lot of forwarded new year smses and wanna say thank you for remembering me. Hahaha..usually people dont. I didnt really celebrate the new year’s eve. Me and my family went dinner at Naili’s Corner..or is it Place now? I’m not sure. Well, we went there for dinner and thats pretty much it. Everyone keep asking me whats my resolution this year. Its not to have one. Whats the point of having one when dont even know what you want in life right? Haha…Me, I live for the present. I dont look back nor forward.

Moving on, I wanna share this picture to all of you. Taken by my cousin, Adul or he like to be called Ady.

n683707654_1187979_6557The one in the picture is Nana, my cousin also. I’m not sure where is this place though…
